San Diego Days 3-5

Day 3
On Sunday, we spent the day at Rob and Di's house watching General Conference. We all really enjoyed it. Rob was on call at the hospital. Di made a WONDERFUL early Easter dinner for us (she knew we would be traveling home on Easter). We had ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, green salad, fruit salad, cranberry mousse, yams and green bean casserole. Everything tasted sooooooo good! Kate was so amazed that Di knew how to make cranberry mousse! It was a great, relaxing day!

Day 4
On Monday, we went to the beach. The water was cold, so the kids spent most of their time playing in the sand. Jacob enjoyed dumping cold water on himself, but would not allow anyone else to do it. He was not afraid to get dirty!

After the beach, Rob & Di and David & I went out to dinner. The restaurant was right on the ocean and had a great view. The food was very good too! After dinner we went to see the Hunger Games. It was so nice to have Natalee and Katherine watch our kids. I didn't worry about them at all! It was a really fun night. It really made me wish we could do things like that with Rob and Di more often.

Day 5
On Tuesday, we went to visit the Mormon Battalion historic site. The kids enjoyed mining for gold and Jacob especially liked pumping the well water.

After visiting the historic site, we had lunch at a Mexican restaurant in old San Diego. It was a lot of fun and yummy! Next, we went to a session at the San Diego Temple. The Temple was absolutely beautiful and literally breath taking inside and out! Our cell phone pictures don't give it the credit it deserves. It was so fun to see it so many times over the course of the week driving by on the freeway. Kate thought it was the perfect princess castle! And once again it was nice to have our built in babysitters!

After the temple, David and Rob were able to make it to a San Diego Padres game. The Padres even won!
